Quite some time ago, I began penning my semi-autobiographical novel ‘For the Love of a Man’ but did not have the courage to submit it for publication. I put it on the back burner and went on to publish several other books. Then I read about a competition held by oxfordbookstore.com soliciting 1st chapters of unpublished novels that were to be judged by known Indian literary names like Amitav Ghosh and Shobha De. To my surprise I stood 3rd amongst 1700 applicants from India and abroad! Along with the others, I was felicitated at a press conference and interviewed by journalists of leading Indian dailies and magazines like India Today, Hindustan Times, The Hindu and the Indian Express. The first chapter also fetched me a cash prize and a certificate. Attached are some pictures of the event held at The Park Hotel New Delhi.
